2010 Great Youth Debate - Nov 13th!

Inspired by the Emmy-nominated film, "The Great Debaters", we have worked hard to ensure that all youth regardless of race, class, sex, gender, and socio-economic status have the opportunities to flourish as debaters and public speakers.

Debaters from various Cincinnati high schools and community youth groups will be debating topics related to equal opportunity issues as well as issues related to the freedom of expression.

The 2010 Great Youth Debate takes place, Saturday, November 13th, from 10AM to 2PM at City Hall (800 Plum Street).

UC LEAD Class - Earn Academic Credit for Developing Your Leadership Skills

Register for the UC LEAD Winter Quarter Class

Have you started to schedule your classes for Winter Quarter? Are you interested in learning more about leadership? Do you want to receive credit hours for it? Then register for the UC LEAD Class, a distinguished, dynamic and interactive leadership program! All students welcome!

UCLEAD is a distinguished leadership program taught by seasoned team members from the UC Office of Student Activities and Leadership Development.  This course will allow you to learn more about yourself and to develop as a leader who can be respected and trusted in your organization, workplace and community.

The class is offered during the winter and spring quarters through the Department of Counseling in the College of Education, Criminal Justice, and Human Services.  Participants will learn how to lead themselves through the exploration of leadership theories, motivational styles and skill building. Students also learn how to "Lead Others" by learning group dynamics cultural competence and the art of leading others. 

The UC LEAD course is a 400-level class in which students earn 3-credit hours.

Shades of You "Your Body is Your Temple" Program - Nov 4th!

UC student group Shades of You is hosting a program titled "Your Body is Your Temple" this Thursday, November 4th at 5pm in 3200 CRC with the Young Women of Color Leadership Council!  It will provide thoughtful discussion and information on a variety of important topics, including HIV/AIDS education, reproductive justice, and healthy relationships.
