From UC International:
Volunteers needed for International Education Week: We have some exciting events planned for International Education Week this year from November 15-19, 2010. Please check our webpage out at:
Click on the right hand nav bar (on International Education week). Some of the highlights this year include:
- Keynote speaker/author Jason Barger (author of Step Away from the Baggage Claim)
- International film festival (Turkey and Japan)
- Chef demonstrations at Center Court, Stadium View Cafe
- International cuisine at Center Court
- Taste of the World – Friday Night Live
- Roundtable discussion at the AACRC
- Postcards from Abroad (Honors)
- Pack Your Bags: Tips from Returnees
- WorldQuest trivia game
This is a great way to earn community service hours for Cincinnatus or Turner if you need them. Blank UC “passports” will be distributed at each event and stamps placed in each one for any student attending. We also need to hand out and collect evaluations. The evals help us to improve the program next year and let us know what went well this year.
There are SIX upcoming training sessions scheduled soon.. All volunteers must attend just one of these sessions so that we explain where/how help is needed:
- Monday Nov 1st – Noon; Room 3134 Edwards Center One, UC International
- Tuesday Nov 2nd – Noon; Room 3134 Edwards Center One, UC International
- Weds Nov 3rd – Noon; Room 3134 Edwards Center One, UC International
- Thursday Nov. 4th – Noon; Room 3134 Edwards Center One, UC International
- Monday Nov 8th – 3:30 pm Room 619 Swift Hall
- Tuesday Nov 9th – 3:30 pm Room 619 Swift Hall
Please confirm to Karen.ramos@uc.edu if you are able to volunteer and attend one of the training sessions. We look forward to collaborating with you!
