Selected participants will spend one week in South Korea from March 18-26, 2011. This program is designed for students who have had little to no previous exposure to Korean culture. Students are hosted by Yonsei University located in Seoul, South Korea. Yonsei will organize academic lectures, tours, and cultural excursions throughout the program.
Applicants must have completed one semester of university courses, have a GPA of 3.0 or higher and must demonstrate through the application process their flexibility, maturity, adaptability, and readiness to face challenges of interacting in a new culture.
The application deadline is January 14, 2011.
The scholarship covers the following: International flight to and from South Korea from a designated U.S. Gateway city, housing, meals, lectures and excursions. Participants are responsible for their travel expenses to and from the U.S. gateway city. This program is the perfect opportunity for students who do not have time to spend a full semester or academic year abroad, but are looking for a short term opportunity to explore Korean culture.
