New Director of UC Equal Opportunity & Access: Matthew Boaz

I am pleased to announce the hiring of Matthew Boaz to the Director of Equal Opportunity and Access position in Human Resources. Matthew comes to us from Miami University of Ohio where he currently serves as the Assistant Vice President for Institutional Diversity and Director of Equity and Equal Opportunity. For nearly 10 years he has had responsibility for managing and administering affirmative action plans, ensuring compliance, investigating complaints, search committees, ADA, and experience with Title VI, Title VII and Title IX. Prior to joining Miami, Matthew spent 4 years as a Compliance Officer with the United States Department of Labor, Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs.

Returning to UC as the Assistant Director of Equal Opportunity and Access is Donna Bowman. Donna worked in the UC Office of Equal Opportunity from 1996-2003. Since that time she has instructed part-time at Great Oaks and currently serves as the Human Resources Specialist/EEO Coordinator with Convergys. In this role she has responsibility for Equal Employment Opportunity/Affirmative Action Program compliance within Convergys customer Management Group. She also oversees all HR activities regarding Federal Contract Compliance, recruiting processes, workshops and training, harassment awareness, etc.
Both Matthew and Donna will start work at UC on August 27, 2012.
