Asian Culture Fest at the Cincinnati Museum Center - Apr 14th & 15th!
Asian Culture Fest highlights the rich histories, arts, and traditions of India, Japan, Korea and Taiwan through an assortment of performances and cultural activities. Demonstrations, storytelling, dance performances, workshops, cultural displays and an Asian marketplace with authentic Asian merchandise all bring the Cultures of Asia to Cincinnati Museum Center.Asian Culture Fest activities in the Rotunda and adjacent areas are free and open to the public!
Saturday, April 14
ROTUNDA: ASIAN MARKET AND CULTURAL PLACE
10 A.M. - 5 P.M. Introduce your family to a brand new culture!We invite you to our Cultural Hot Spots to learn more about some of the Asian cultures found right here in Cincinnati! (Look for booths with the Cultural Hot Spot sign).
India: Feel elaborate sand designs and then create your own at this Cultural Hot Spot.
Japan: Did you know that in Japan there’s a special holiday for boys and girls? See what children receive on this special day and learn more about Japanese culture at this Cultural Hot Spot!
Taiwan: Sip on some Taiwanese tea while learning how to write your name using the Chinese alphabet.
Cincinnati Go Club: Join the Cincinnati Go Club to learn about Go. The game is played by millions of people, and in Japan, Korea, China, and Taiwan, it is even more popular than chess is in the West. It’s fast, easy and sure to help your family strategize a little more.

1 p.m. Taiwan Lion Dance & Aboriginal dance, Taiwanese Association of Cincinnati
1:30 p.m. Nepali Dance by the Nepal Community in Cincinnati
2 p.m. NrityaArpana School of Performing Arts, Classical Indian dance showcase
3 p.m. Aikido demonstration by Aikido of Cincinnati
4 p.m. Yayoi Renfro: Japanese Umbrella Dance
NEWSREEL THEATRE
Noon and 2 p.m. Special screening of "Kung Fu Dunk," a comic movie about a young man growing up in a Kung Fu school who is found on the street playing basketball.
DUKE ENERGY CHILDREN’S MUSEUM
2 p.m. Where in the World…Lotus. Create a lotus flower boat and watch it drift down the river in Water Works.
1 & 2:15 p.m. Dances of India. You no longer have to travel the world to see beautiful dances from India! Don’t miss this amazing performance!
3 p.m. Young at Art: Cherry Blossoms. Celebrate the coming of spring, and discover the significance of the cherry blossom in Japanese culture.
