Earth Week
The University of Cincinnati has celebrated Earth Day continuously since its creation in 1970. That first year included a week of events such as speakers, community discussions, a rally, and an “Ecoff ee House.” The tradition continues with a full two weeks of events!

6:00pm Lecture Series: Mountain Top Removal Mining, MainStreet CinemaDonna Branham from the Keeper of the Mountains Foundation will discuss the practice of mountain top removal mining and what activists are doing to stop it in the Appalachian Mountains.

5:30pm Workshop Series: Container Gardening, Bike Kitchen
Learn how to grow vegetables, herbs, and flowers in your apartment or res hall room!
Saturday, April 21
10:00am - 2:00pm Soiled Hands Learning Garden Community Day, UC Early Learning Center, 3310 Ruther AvenueEnjoy a day of fun and learning in the garden! We will build rain barrels, paint signs for the plants, and enjoy fresh and delicious food!
Sunday, April 22
10:00am - ~3:00pm Trees for Tomorrow, Meet at CRC Circle by the ERCReduce your carbon footprint and help rebuild a habitat; volunteer to plant trees with us! We will plant 100 trees at UC's Victory Parkway campus. Transportation and lunch will be provided. RSVP to green@uc.edu!
