Leadership Scholars Seeking Summer Program Teachers

Leadership Scholars, a non-profit dedicated to providing leadership training to selected inner-city youth in Cincinnati, is looking for a few excellent teachers! Each summer, we host a 4-week Summer Program to help further the learning and experiences of our students, and we are looking for creative, innovative and energetic teachers who will help make our Summer Program a success!

The 2011 Summer Program runs from June 13 - July 8, and professional teachers are needed each weekday from 8:30 AM - 1:30 PM. Teachers are also required to attend a two-day training, June 9 - 10 and attend at least one field trip. This is a paid position, located in Cincinnati, Ohio. The students participating in the program are rising 8th, 9th, 10th and 11th graders.
This position requires a Bachelor's Degree and two years related experience. Knowledge of effective teaching methods and principles as well as knowledge of a specific subject area is also required. Effective communication skills and the ability to make learning fun are key elements for success in this position. Teachers are given a curriculum to follow, but are responsible for creating all of their own lesson plans and supplemental materials.
