Interviewing for Academic JobsThis interactive presentation--part of the UC Postdoctoral Fellow Association's Professional Development Seminar Series--offers strategies for success in academic job interviews, including interviews at disciplinary conferences, by phone, by video and in person. The emphasis will be on mental and physical preparation, techniques for calming your anxiety and best practices for the interview itself.

UC ingot   UC's Postdoctoral Fellow Association presents the next seminar in its Professional Development Seminar Series from 2:30 to 4 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 15, in Medical Sciences Building Room 4051. John Bryan, PhD, will share interviewing tips for academic jobs in his presentation "Interrogation or Conversation? You choose!"
 
This interactive presentation offers strategies for success in academic job interviews, including interviews at disciplinary conferences, by phone, by video and in person. The emphasis will be on mental and physical preparation, techniques for calming your anxiety and best practices for the interview itself.
 
Bryan is UC’s vice provost for academic personnel. A faculty member in the English department of McMicken College of Arts and Sciences, Bryan has also served as an associate dean and dean and teaches the Academic Job Search Colloquium for the Preparing Future Faculty Program.
